Roseman University College of Dental Medicine has established an innovative partnership with PDS Health®, a leading national dental and medical support organization, to create a transformative external rotation program for dental students.

The new Dental Service Organization (DSO) External Rotation Program immerses students in PDS Health-supported practices throughout Las Vegas and other Nevada locations, providing valuable hands-on clinical experience under the guidance of experienced oral healthcare professionals. This partnership allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, enhancing their practical skills and professional confidence.

“This partnership provides exceptional hands-on experience in real-world dental practices for our students while serving our communities,” said Dr. Ryan Moffat, Assistant Dean of Oral Healthcare Education at Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. “This practical training will significantly benefit our students by equipping them with the skills and confidence vital to providing high-quality dental care and excelling in their careers.”

The collaboration is particularly timely as PDS Health recently relocated its headquarters to Henderson, enabling closer coordination with Roseman University. Stephen E. Thorne IV, Founder and CEO of PDS Health, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are dedicated to providing dental students with invaluable hands-on experiences to support their growth and development. The recent relocation of PDS Health headquarters to Henderson will enable us to work even more closely with Roseman to equip students with essential skills, while empowering them to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities in need.”

Beyond clinical training, the program offers students exposure to oral health challenges faced by underserved communities, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of accessible dental care. This aligns with Roseman’s commitment to improving public oral health with special attention to underserved populations.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in dental education at Roseman University, strengthening the institution’s ability to prepare the next generation of dental professionals while serving the broader community.
