Meet Our Students

“Participating in Roseman University's community outreach donating care to underserved populations has been a humbling experience. The Patient Assistance Fund program is just one example of the benefits and services provided to needy patients, including refugees. Events such as Give Kids a Smile® and Give New Utahans a Smile demonstrate the University's commitment to providing oral health services to underserved populations. These programs not only provide essential dental care, but they also help to educate on the importance of oral health and hygiene. Participating in these community outreach events as a dental student provides me with invaluable experience in working with diverse patient populations and fulfilling the mission of serving the underserved. I firmly believe that Roseman’s College of Dental Medicine is the ideal choice for me to attain my future goals in clinical and academic dentistry.”

Home State: Virginia

"Coming from California, I love living in a place with four seasons! I feel like there is always something to look forward to, whether it is the changing leaves in Fall or tubing down a lazy river in summer. Also, the people in Utah are so nice, it took some getting used to!"

Ella, Class of 2023

Home State: California

"I chose Roseman because from the very beginning as first-year students there is a strong focus on our clinical experiences. Healthcare is about the people and communities we serve. Innovation and advancements in dentistry are focused on the impact they will have on our patients. I believe that Roseman understands this and wants to give students a strong foundation that focuses on our community. Early on we have the opportunity to integrate so much of what we learn with real-life situations – this kind of experience is priceless."

Juan, Class of 2024

Home State: Utah

“I chose Roseman’s College of Dental Medicine because of the welcoming environment, collaborative team-building foundation, and the happiness that the faculty have working here. There is a strong sense that student education and patient care are top priorities. I feel a sense of camaraderie with my fellow students because we work together closely in every class, sim clinic, and on the clinic floor. There are opportunities for group work in the classroom and collaboration with each other and faculty in the clinic. Because of the pass/no pass grading system, everyone has an attitude of helping each other achieve success.”

Lindsay, Class of 2025

Home State: California

“The culture at Roseman University is very inclusive and supportive. In all steps of the application process and being a first year, I have always felt supported by staff and other students. In addition, I believe the school is making even more steps to be more inclusive, such as forming a Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Since day one, I have felt a sense of community with my fellow students. Whether they are in my class or the upper classes, there are always other students that you can count on for advice on classes, clinics, and even just life in Utah.”

Aasha, Class of 2026

Home State: Georgia

“I love the nature and the snow. I’m trying to learn how to ski. I’m originally from Arizona where it doesn’t snow so seeing snow was a good change in scenery. I feel a good sense of community where I live. I live in South Jordan and run into a lot of Roseman students. The culture of Roseman’s College of Dental Medicine is diverse with both faculty and students from various countries. Everyone at Roseman brings something unique whether it be ideas or experience.”

Three Commitments

Lifelong Colleagues: We emphasize the development of Lifelong Colleagues at every level. This approach encourages all students, faculty, and staff to make each and every interaction reflect a sincere desire to develop each other as lifelong colleagues.

Honor Code: We have adopted an honor code that applies to all students, faculty, and staff. Adapted from the US Military Academies, it simply states that “I will not lie, cheat, steal, nor disrespect others and will uphold all professionalism standards befitting a healthcare provider.”

Commitments to Each Other: We commit to helping each other become the best we can be at what we do and celebrate our successes.

Team-Based Clinical Education Model

Roseman’s efficient data-driven, Team-Based Clinical Education Model is a new model that focuses on team practice rather than the traditional single-practice model widely used throughout dental schools in the U.S. This model falls in line with Roseman University’s Six-Point Mastery Learning Model® which focuses on active & collaborative learning. To be successful in any field of healthcare you need to be able to work as a collaborative team. This new educational model will teach just that, while also offering students the opportunity to treat 4-6 patients a day in primary and secondary provider teams. Students gain:

  • Diverse clinical experiences
  • Increased team and individual assessment/feedback
  • Earlier clinical competencies
  • Fluency in working in practice teams
  • Roseman BTSBU

    Community Outreach Opportunities

Dental students at Roseman College of Dental Medicine have the opportunity to participate in multiple community outreach projects throughout their time in the College.
