Biography:

Dr. Krista Hales, DBH LADC-S, is the Associate Director for Roseman University’s EMPOWERED Program, a comprehensive project aimed at supporting pregnant / post-partum mothers with substance use. She will be assisting the current staff in oversight of the program’s initiatives as well as looking at opportunities for expansion. Dr. Hales joined Roseman’s College of Medicine in July, 2024. With over a decade of experience in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery, she brings an expansive knowledge of community needs for the state of Nevada. Dr. Hales represents our city on numerous platforms nationally and locally. In 2024, she became a subject matter expert to SAMHSA for harm reduction and opioid use treatment through Manhattan Strategy Group. She is a current member of the Nevada Governor’s Behavioral Health and Planning Advisory Council. She also serves on the Leadership Committee for the Southern Nevada Opioid Advisory Council and as an Advisory Board Member for Shine A Light Foundation. Dr. Hales was part of the support team behind the opening of the first all-publicly funded recovery high school in the nation, Mission High School. Additionally, Dr. Hales was awarded the Nevada Pharmacy Alliance’s “Friend of Pharmacy” Award in 2022 for her work in creating a education rotation site for Pharmacy Students through Roseman University at a medication-assisted treatment facility.
