Krystal K.C. Riccio is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the College of Pharmacy at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a researcher in the Roseman Research Center on Substance Abuse and Depression. As clinical faculty, Dr. Riccio teaches across the didactic curriculum and precepts APPE students in ambulatory care settings. She currently practices under a collaborative practice agreement within a community-based comprehensive opioid treatment center, providing medication counseling and comprehensive medication management of chronic medical conditions for persons living with substance use disorder. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Riccio practiced for nearly a decade in primary care offices for the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, focused on diabetes and obesity management.
As a clinician, researcher, and community partner, Dr. Riccio has passionately worked in the field of substance use disorders and prevention for over a decade. She co-founded and advises Roseman University’s Drug Awareness Advocacy Team to improve adolescent health education and actively participates in Nevada legislation and policy efforts to reduce prescription drug misuse and overdose death. Dr. Riccio presents on the topic of opioid use disorder at local, state, and national meetings and is passionate about educating interprofessional healthcare workers and students to improve the health and wellness of their communities.
