Sheyla Pierre joined Roseman College of Medicine in April 2021. She leads GENESIS, an initiative that provides comprehensive medical and social services to medically underserved communities. In this role, Sheyla oversees all aspects of GENESIS daily operations, program development, quality assurance, and strategic growth. She is responsible for creating community-campus partnerships, managing community relationships, and implementing the GENESIS operational plan. Sheyla also develops and implements multiple strategic pathways for community participation at the medical school.Previously, Sheyla worked in child welfare, mental health, and policy. Sheyla has a profound passion for people and community service. She is dedicated to using her career to directly impact the lives of others, while uplifting communities.
