Congressman Burgess Owens learned about Roseman's Six-Point Mastery Learning Model® while visiting the South Jordan Campus.

On Friday, August 9, 2024, Congressman Burgess Owens (UT-04) visited Roseman University’s South Jordan Campus. Congressman Owens represents Utah’s 4th district in the United States House of Representatives.

During his time in office, some of the issues he has tackled are assuring quality higher education and removing barriers for small businesses. “[Rep. Owens] was very interested in our education model as well as the job market for our graduating students,” shared Senior Associate Dean, Dr. James Hupp.

While at the South Jordan campus, Rep. Owens toured the facilities and learned about Roseman’s educational programs. “We provided Mr. Owens with a tour that included one of our classrooms as well as our clinics and simulation clinic,” explained Dr. Hupp. “The visit ended with a presentation from Andria Peterson about Roseman’s EMPOWERED program that supports pregnant and postpartum individuals with addiction issues.”

“Although the visit was brief,” said Dr. Hupp, “it was more than a photo-op. He asked really good questions and was genuinely interested in everything we are doing here at [Roseman] and with the EMPOWERED program.”
