The Roseman Library Presents: EndNote Essentials
On September 12, 2024, Connor Schwartz led an EndNote software training for College of Dental Medicine students, faculty, and staff.
On September 12, 2024, students and faculty gathered in Classroom 100 at the South Jordan campus to attend an EndNote software training led by Connor Schwartz, research and learning librarian and liaison to the College of Dental Medicine.
“EndNote is a handy citation management software that helps you organize and keep track of all your research sources,” explained Connor. “It allows you to easily store, manage, and format your references and bibliographies, saving you time and effort when writing papers or creating reports.”
If you would like access to EndNote, you can request it by submitting a help desk ticket.
Connor’s goal in developing the Endnote Essentials workshop was to give students, faculty, and research assistants an overview of EndNote’s most important functions. Those who attended learned how to:
- Open or Create an EndNote Library
- Get Citations from the Roseman Library
- Get Citations from Google Scholar
- Get Citations from PubMed
- Manage Citations
- Group Citations by Topic
- Tag Citations
- Attach PDFs to Citations
- Share an EndNote Library with a Colleague
- Add Citations from EndNote to Microsoft Word
For those who were unable to attend the workshop or who would like to review its content, Connor has recorded his training (24:07) and uploaded it to YouTube.
Because EndNote is such a robust tool, this training only covers the basics. “There is so much that it can do for you, I could not include it all here,” explained Connor. “If you have any questions you can always reach out to the library either through email, our chat, or you can schedule a meeting with one of our librarians.”
To learn more about citations, you can review the Cite and Write Guide. For further questions, connect with one of Roseman’s librarians by sending a message to library@roseman.edu.
