Fall 2023 Schedule of Roseman University’s Neighborhood Health Series in Summerlin Announced
Roseman University today announced the fall 2023 schedule of its Neighborhood Health Series, events that bring community members together to learn, share and collaborate with physicians, researchers and other healthcare practitioners on issues related to health and wellness.
The fall schedule kicks off at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 21 with “EMPOWERED -How One Program is Changing the Lives of Recovering Moms with Substance Use Disorders and their Babies,” presented by Andria Peterson, PharmD, executive director of Roseman University College of Medicine’s EMPOWERED program.
Established in 2018, EMPOWERED is a recovery-oriented, family-based program that combines medication for opioid use disorder with comprehensive, wraparound services to manage educational and therapeutic goals with peer support, individual and group therapy, and care navigation to promote health and abiding recovery. The program currently serves 112 active clients in Southern Nevada with plans to expand in Northern Nevada.
Presented at Summerlin campus, each month the Neighborhood Health Series introduces expert speakers on various healthcare topics including navigating Medicare, dealing with common diseases, and coping with an aging parent. Guests experience elements of Roseman’s Six-Point Mastery Learning Model and are invited to get to know other attendees, all while learning alongside members of southern Nevada’s most accomplished and talented medical community.
Roseman University’s Neighborhood Health Series events are free and open to the public, however registration is recommended at speakers.roseman.edu or by calling 702-802-2872. All events feature light dinner and refreshments. Neighborhood Health Series is sponsored by Clark County Credit Union.
