Henderson Report – February 2022

February 9, 2022

Welcome to the first Henderson campus report in 2022. As we enter this new year, on behalf of everyone at Roseman University’s Henderson Campus, I would like to thank you for your continued interest and support of our students, faculty and staff, and everything they do to elevate the healthcare professions and engage in our local communities to help those in need.

A great example is our Medicare Call Lab, operated by volunteer student pharmacists from the Roseman University chapter of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) in partnership with Nevada’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). Since 2015, the Lab has been helping Medicare beneficiaries enroll in the most cost-effective plan to meet their individual needs by offering unbiased information to help them make informed decisions about their Medicare enrollment and coverage options.

Since the Medicare Call Lab’s inception, volunteers have saved clients more than $1.7 million dollars. Last year, the Lab expanded its services to also include Medication Therapy Management services to help seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries understand their prescribed medications and to take them properly. To help the volunteer student pharmacists of the Medicare Call Lab continue to provide its services to Las Vegas-area Medicare beneficiaries, last month they were awarded a $22,000 Dignity Health Community Grant, to support a part-time pharmacist position.

This month, the College of Nursing welcomed 39 new students in its hybrid-online Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program to our Henderson campus. All of us at Roseman’s Henderson campus welcome each of these students to our campus and look forward to helping them successfully grow their skills and knowledge. Also, this month our College of Nursing began accepting applications for its RN to BSN program. The 9-month program, delivered online, helps working nurses holding an associate degree in nursing complete their baccalaureate nursing education while continuing their day-to-day responsibilities. You can read more about the program in this issue of SpectRUm.

I am also pleased to inform you that the College of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Program has been granted an initial, 5-year accreditation by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Congratulations to the College of Nursing. Thank you to all those who made this accreditation possible.

In closing this month’s report, I welcome you to see in real-time all the great things happening at Roseman by following us on social media. We can be found on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Best wishes,

Dr. Eucharia Nnadi
Chancellor, Roseman University Henderson Campus
