Dr. Jeremy Ivie, College of Pharmacy – South Jordan Campus – Class of 2011, was recently tapped to lead Salina Clinic/Wayne Community Health Centers (WCHC) pharmacy operations in Salina, a rural community in Sevier County, Utah. Dr. Ivie was born and raised in Salina. In a recent article in The Insider, he said, “Living in my hometown has helped me to feel more connected to the people I serve at the pharmacy. I love the people here in these rural areas. I look forward to working with everyone at Wayne Community Health Center.”
Dr. Bronwyn Smith, College of Pharmacy – South Jordan Campus – Class of 2017, has been appointed a HEAL Global Health Fellow along with 22 healthcare professionals from around the world. From LeChee, Arizona, a mountain city in the northwest corner of the Navajo Reservation, Dr. Smith is a clinical pharmacist at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC) in Tuba City, Arizona where she serves her Navajo community as a diabetes management provider and works alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients that come into the health facility.
Dr. Emmanuel Vergara, College of Pharmacy – Henderson Campus – Class of 2021, was featured in an article profiling recent graduates in the health professions in the September issue Desert Companion magazine. Dr. Vergara was enrolled in the CVS Health Spanish Pathway, a program designed to recruit and train future pharmacists to work in Hispanic communities where shortages of Spanish-speaking pharmacists persist. He recently secured a position with CVS Health and will be working with patients in Las Vegas.
Dr. Ronak Parikh, College of Dental Medicine – Class of 2017, opened Bay Breeze Dental in the Wesley Chapel area of Tampa, Florida. A Florida native, Dr. Parikh is dedicated to serving his community, not only providing outstanding patient care through his practice, but also through volunteerism. He dedicates his spare time to Mission Smiles of Tampa and working with Turning Points to donate dental care to those in need. He also gives back to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Dr. Marylin Rodriguez Monagas, College of Dental Medicine – Class of 2021, along with another dentist will lead Aspen Dental’s new Rock Hill, South Carolina practice. Dr. Monagas and her team will provide a full range of dental services, create new jobs in the Rock Hill community, and improve access to quality oral healthcare, all at one convenient location.
Dr. Benjamin Alma Hulbert, College of Dental Medicine – Class of 2020, is leading Aspen Dental’s new practice in Ontario, Oregon. Dr. Hulbert grew up in Parma, Idaho near the Oregon border and has spent time during his career in the Ontario and Nyssa areas. Dr. Hulbert and his team will provide a full range of dental services ranging from preventive care and general dentistry to dentures and restoration.
