Roseman University’s EMPOWERED program will premiere the second season of its award-winning podcast, “EMPOWERED Voices: Recovery to Resiliency,” on Monday, March 31. The podcast, which has recently honored with a Pinnacle Award from the Las Vegas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, continues to shine a light on families navigating substance use during and after pregnancy.

Co-hosted by Farzad Kamyar, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in addiction medicine, and Amani Wilson, EMPOWERED’s program coordinator, the podcast series features compelling guests who share raw, unfiltered perspectives on the most pressing challenges for individuals in recovery.

Kamyar and Wilson leverage their combined expertise to provide a nuanced exploration of substance use. By blending Wilson’s personal recovery journey and program coordination insights with Kamyar’s psychiatric specialization in addiction medicine, the podcast offers a comprehensive approach to understanding the complex dynamics of substance use and recovery.

“Through compelling stories, expert insights, and actionable guidance, this series aims to empower listeners with understanding, compassion, and tools for support,” said Kamyar. “From personal struggles to collective resilience, each episode is designed to foster empathy, break down stigmas, and promote healing within families and communities.”

The second season will premiere on Monday, March 31, with episodes airing every two weeks. This season will explore critical topics including:

  • What Substance Use Looks Like: Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover
