SpectRUm – President’s Letter, Fall 2024

September 25, 2024 By Renee Coffman

Greetings,

As we wait for the crisp air of autumn to settle in, our Roseman University campus communities are filled with excitement for the new academic year and the wealth of opportunities it brings to our Roseman family. It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to our incoming students and residents across our colleges of Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Graduate Studies. Your decisions to join Roseman University marks the beginning of an exciting journey in healthcare education. We are committed to providing you all with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will shape you into outstanding healthcare professionals.

In celebration of excellence, let’s give a heartfelt congratulations to our fourth class of Hero Scholars! This year’s 11 pharmacy and nursing students truly embody the Roseman spirit. To our generous donors who make this program possible, we cannot thank you enough. Your support is nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders. I encourage everyone to read about our Hero Scholars’ inspiring stories in this edition of SpectRUm.

As we welcome our new students and residents, I’m excited to share a remarkable innovation from our College of Dental Medicine’s Orthodontic Residency program. We’ve taken a pioneering step by adopting Dental Monitoring technology in the Roseman Dental & Orthodontics practice. This cutting-edge technology allows for remote monitoring of orthodontic patients, enhancing care quality and improving outcomes. It’s a shining example of how Roseman continues to lead in healthcare innovation, benefiting both our patients and residents. Don’t miss the detailed article in this SpectRUm edition to learn more about this transformative approach to orthodontic education and treatment.

Finally, Roseman is setting the stage for our upcoming 2024 Homecoming events. This year is particularly special as we celebrate Roseman University’s 25th Anniversary. It’s a remarkable milestone that reflects our commitment to excellence in healthcare education and our enduring impact on the communities we serve. I encourage all members of our Roseman family – students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters – to mark your calendars for October 24 through November 1 for a series of events to be held at our Henderson, Summerlin and South Jordan campuses. Information will be sent out soon, so watch your inbox and Roseman’s social media.

As this 2024-2025 academic year progresses, let us reaffirm our mission, to transforming education, reimagining healthcare, embracing discovery and our commitment to community.  Each of you plays a vital role in Roseman’s mission, and I am honored to be on this journey with you.

Warm regards,

Renee Coffman, Ph.D.
