Hello roadrunners, spring is slowly making its way here in Northern Utah, so be sure to get out and enjoy the sun when you can! A lot has happened since the last spectrum report, so let us get to it.
First, I would like to congratulate the DMD (Dental Medicine) class of 2022 on graduating! Yesterday, May 12, 100 students graduated at the Capitol Theatre in Downtown Salt Lake City, UT. All of which students passed their board exams at a 100% passing rate on the very first try. Ninety-seven of these students have a job lined up for them after graduation, and 3 are considering competitive offers. They are Roseman students, through and through! We were lucky enough to hear from our keynote speaker, Mr. Stanley Bergman the CEO of Henry Shein, Inc, as well as our very own president, Dr. Renee Coffman. To the DMD class of 2022; we are so proud of you. You are an impressive bunch and I know you will go out into the world and do wonderful things. Congratulations!
Next, our HERO Scholarship application has officially opened today! Roseman University is awarding $10,000 “Hero Scholarships” for incoming students to identify and nurture future students who have demonstrated heroism in their everyday lives. Currently, applications for Hero Scholarships for incoming Nursing and Pharmacy programs for the 22-23 academic year are open from Wednesday 4/13 – Friday 4/22. Winners will be notified in late May/early June for the upcoming academic year. Additional information about the application process and scoring criteria can be found here.
Coming up, our annual Give Kids a Smile event has been officially rescheduled for Friday, May 6, 2022. Roseman Dental and Roseman University College of Dental Medicine are proud to partner with the American Dental Association to provide free dental screenings and cleanings to qualifying children ages 18 and under as part of the national Give Kids a Smile® program. Roseman’s event will be held on Friday, May 6 from 9 am to 4 pm. Children 18 and under receive a voucher to return for FREE dental screenings, cleanings, and fluoride varnish application, and $100 towards additional care.
Lastly, The College of Dental Medicine at Roseman University of Health Sciences opened a new state-of-the-art clinical wing to Roseman Dental, the clinical practice of Roseman University College of Dental Medicine, South Jordan, Utah location. This clinical wing will be dedicated to Team-Based Education, which is a new education model that focuses on team practice rather than the traditional single-practice model widely used throughout the United States. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 just before our Give Kids a Smile event.
Wishing you a safe and healthy April.
Best wishes,
Jeremy Wells, JD
Chancellor, South Jordan Campus
